It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the Department of History, University of Kashmir. Since its establishment in 1965, the Department has remained committed to the pursuit of academic excellence, critical inquiry, and meaningful engagement with the past. Over the years, it has evolved into a vibrant centre of teaching and research, attracting students and scholars who seek to understand historical processes and their relevance to contemporary society.
